brought together local, national and international artists to interpret the birds of the Great Salt Lake through contemporary classical music, modern dance, photography and narration. In conjunction with the presentation, more than 800 elementary school students were involved in workshops led by an ornithologist that combined learning about the lake's delicate ecosystem with kites they created and flew over the Great Salt Lake.

The Guatemalan Kite Residency
was a series of workshops the Drachen Foundation collaborated on to teach elementary students about the Mayan tradition of kite-making on the Day of the Dead. Student participants from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds had the opportunity to construct their own miniature kites, integrating social studies and math curriculum in the process. The results were astounding as nearly 1,000 children created collage-style kites that carried a special meaning.

The Choreographers Lab
is an intensive three-week workshop that allows artists with a dance background to collaborate in an environment free from budgetary and time constraints. With a national reputation for artistic excellence, the project is the only of its kind in the intermountain west. Brolly Arts has hosted five Choreographers Labs, which were held at Snowbird Resort, Deer Valley Resort and in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Independent Voices
has been produced by Brolly Arts five times, allowing artists from many disciplines to experiment, create new work and have their pieces produced in a professional venue. In 2002, the Ahn Trio worked with composer Kenji Bunch and choreographer Stephen Koester to produce a performance at Kingsbury Hall as part of this series.
