The Spirit of Sugar House

Deepening interest in and awareness of environmental and historical treasures

2008

Funded in part by a Creative Communities Grant — a two-year initiative designed to fund arts projects with economic impact — this project generated a series of three distinct art projects designed to be part of the community development project in Salt Lake’s Sugar House district.

This project catalyzed the entire Sugar House community by deepening interest in and awareness of the environmental and historical treasures of this place. Businesses, artists, organizations, educational institutions, civic entities, residents, concerned citizens came together around central themes to collaborate, participate and engage in community building aspects of Sugar House.
